Torrin was bred by Cameron Ormiston of the Croila Stud, in Newtonmore in the depths of the Highlands of Scotland.  Born in 1999, Torrin was later bought as a 5 year old directly by Melanie & Gemma Stanford of the Finglands Stud, in East Yorkshire, England.

Having left Cameron with several lovely youngsters it was thought Torrin should venture South to the Stanford Family to embark on  what was to be a prolific showing career.

Torrin is relatively unusually coloured for a highland, being bay with unusual but characteristic hazel eyes.  This solid colouring is often passed to his offspring. He has the most fabulous athletic paces and temperament.

Torrin is sire to Tower Clyde (mouse dun stallion), the only Highland Pony in history, to date, to qualify for the Horse of The Year Show Supreme In-hand (Cuddy) Final twice.  Clyde also went on to win at HOYS and be Best of Breed at Olympia.
